Stuff

Sorry I've not posted in a while -- between life and school, things have been pretty hectic.

First, my boyfriend's mom passed away. We knew it was coming, so it was not sudden in the way that someone getting hit by a bus would be...but, I think it was still sooner than we had anticipated. We're all glad she's not in pain anymore, but we all miss her and it sucks that's she's gone. It's really weird, too. We did all get to say our goodbyes to her; one night, 2 days before she actually passed, she called us all in to say the final goodbyes. After that, she never really checked back in, which was just as well because it probably took all she had to do what she did. Long live The Mama, may she rest in peace.

Along with that, I am also in school taking Research & Statistics 2...and Algebra I (still). I will be SO glad when Algebra is over and I can take the summer off from my land class(es)...it's quite draining to have to be in school mode 24/7.

And, along with those, I of course am still working. Nothing different there at the moment, since everyone is back from vacation and things are getting back to normal, but I spend practically every spare moment working on school. Lunch every day consists of either sitting at the computer, reading, or doing some assignment. It's like I never get a break. *sigh* But, I work there so I can sort of half-way relax at home.

And, along with all of that, the boyfriend and I, and his sisters, are in the process of a). finding places to move and b). figuring out what to do with all the junk that's in this house. So far we've chatted about cleaning, moving everything out of the garage for the sorting process, then loading garbage/throwaways back into the garage for disposal by a company called 1800gotjunk. (www.1800gotjunk.com) It sounds like it will be a good thing; not only would we be saved the trouble of renting a dumpster, but we also would not have to load it. They say they can recycle as much as 70% of what they pick up, AND they clean when they get done loading the junk in their truck :D The other thing to do is decide what exactly to do with the junk could be some other person's treasure :) I found a company (We Auction Your Stuff) that will auction things on eBay and then send a check to us after the items sold, but the items need to be worth more than $20 and I am unsure of what we might actually be able to drop off to them. We may end up listing a lot of things on our own, and then having a garage sale/donating the rest. Oh, and this all needs to be done before the end of May :)

My boyfriend and I did find an apartment in a complex that we really like, and they take our dog and two cats :) We paid the deposit and reserved an apartment, and now we're just waiting to get confirmation on a move-in date. I don't think we'll hear anything until the beginning of May, but it's tentatively set for mid-May.

So, May is as follows:

May 14th -
9am-3pm Move the boyfriend & me to our apt
3pm-5pm Wait for the cable people to show up
6-? Finish moving junk, hopefully move the definite "keep" stuff to storage

May 15-May 26
Clean like mad! Sort like crazy!

May 27
Clean-up day, gotjunk is coming/getting a dumpster this day (whichever we decide)

May 28
Move day! Get all the other junk to storage!

Of course, all dates are pending because the landlord's wife is wanting to talk to us before Friday and we're kind of unsure of what this is about. They want to show the house? They want us out sooner? If they want to show the house, they're stupid -- they have to replace the carpets when we move...it needed it when the family moved in here, and now 6 years and a billion animals later it's 200x worse than it started out. Nonetheless, if they want to show it we have some major cleaning to do and not a lot of time to do it in.

So, I won't be posting much between homework, studying, work, cleaning, packing, and keeping myself from going insane :)

There's the update, it was a long one. :)

And now we have the epic battle between good and evil (me vs. the phone company) trying to get our current phone number changed to Vonage service. In order to do this, one must have a Letter of Authorization signed by the owner of the account...The Mama.

The process of changing the phone carrier takes 20 days, and now we've got to wait for a death certificate and who knows when that will be ready...

Once I get the death certificate sent in, I can change the account to my name and then I can *finally* begin the process of switching from our current carrier to Vonage. Oy vey.

*hugs* to The Angie. Sorry you're having such a rough go with the phone system that sucks.

Either if the girls find places yet? I have an interview this afternoon for an office manager position. I'll let ya know how that goes.

lol, Aubs you're a dork :)

Breezy has a place and probably a roommate but we'll see how that pans out. He has bad credit so he can't go on the lease, but he did get a job and he definitely wants the other bedroom.

Lex has to wait for her future roommate to get a job so they can search for a place. I guess for now you could say that no she has no place.

GL with the OM thing, I hope it's not as shady as it sounded to you over the phone.

I ended up likeing the place. It's not a bad job. I find out Tue if I get it or not. It's not really an OM job it's more what I was doing back at G&K. But I have expeirence with what they want me to do. And I"m hoping that even if they offer it to someone else that they would turn it down since it's not really an office manager type position. *crosses fingers*

I hope you get it then, it's bound to be better than what you have currently.

Lex said she's going apt shopping tomorrow so I guess that means they're at least ready to look for a place even if they can't put down a deposit or anything for a couple weeks.
