Funny of the day

This won't happen every day, I just felt like using that title. :)

Anyway, I thought this was pretty funny. Supposedly it's from an actual application, but I don't really care if it's real or fake because, well, it's funny!

----------------------------------------------------

NAME: George Martin

SEX: Not lately, but I am looking for the right woman, (or at least, one who'll cooperate).

DESIRED POSITION: Company President or Vice President. But seriously, whatever's available. If I was in a position to be picky, I wouldn't be applying here in the first place.

DESIRED SALARY: $185,000 a year plus stock options and a Michael Ovitz style severance package. If that's not possible, make an offer and we can haggle.

EDUCATION: Yes.

LAST POSITION HELD: Target for middle management hostility.

PREVIOUS SALARY: A lot less than I'm worth.

MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT: My incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it notes.

REASON FOR LEAVING: It sucked.

HOURS AVAILABLE TO WORK: Any.

PREFERRED HOURS: 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL SKILLS?: Yes, but they're better suited to a more intimate environment.

MAY WE CONTACT YOUR CURRENT EMPLOYER?: If I had one, would I be here?

DO YOU HAVE ANY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT YOU FROM LIFTING UP TO 50 lbs.?: Of what?

DO YOU HAVE A CAR?: I think the more appropriate question here would be "Do you have a car that runs?"

HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY SPECIAL AWARDS OR RECOGNITION?: I may already be a winner of the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, so they tell me.

DO YOU SMOKE?: On the job - no, on my breaks - yes.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS?: Living in the Bahamas with a fabulously wealthy dumb, sexy, blonde, supermodel who thinks I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread. Actually, I'd like to be doing that now.

DO YOU CERTIFY THAT THE ABOVE IS TRUE AND COMPLETE TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE?: Oh yes, absolutely.

Grade for Statistics

OK, so last week I had a couple assignments left for grading and I had a 76%. At that point I was looking at the possible points, and thought...oh please please please let me just get 4 more points so I can have a B.

I got a 94% :D

I think that's the best A I've ever gotten!

Break, woohoo!

I am finally done with the first installment of Statistics! And, this week is Spring Break from the land class, so I actually have a completely free night -- I am so excited :) This weekend I am going to sit around watching movies, reading, and playing games :D

I have The Notebook from Blockbuster, and I should have the newest Bridget Jones mailing ASAP, along with Finding Neverland. On my DVR box, I have 3 movies saved...The Horse Whisperer, Personal Velocity, and Tomb Raider 2.

I'm stoked!

I also have to catch up on Sims 2, City of Heroes, and EverQuest...I see a weekend of vegging in my future :D

Trivial facts

I am one who likes trivia and little tidbits of knowledge, and as such a person, I thought the results of this survey were interesing.

Anime

I'm fairly new to the world of anime, but there are some things I've seen and really enjoyed (for those who are not familiar with the term Anime, it is simply in reference to Japanese animation).

Some must-sees:

Trigun
Macross Plus
Princess Mononoke
Cowboy Bebop

I'm currently watching Fullmetal Alchemist, and it's very very good. I haven't seen the whole thing, but I am tempted to say it's a must-see as well.

A TV series I enjoy is Dragonball Z (or DBZ), but it's kind of like a soap opera (in the sense that a week could go by and you won't have missed anything), so it isn't a must-see but it's fun.

Utopia

Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by my all-time favorite artist, Alanis Morissette. It's from her album called "Under Rug Swept."

Utopia
We’d gather around all in a room fasten our belts engage in dialogue
We’d all slow down rest without guilt not lie without fear disagree sans judgment

We would stay and respond and expand and include and allow and forgive and
Enjoy and evolve and discern and inquire and accept and admit and divulge and
Open and reach out and speak up

This is utopia this is my utopia
This is my ideal my end in sight
Utopia this is my utopia
This is my nirvana
My ultimate

We’d open our arms we’d all jump in we’d all coast down into safety nets

We would share and listen and support and welcome be propelled by passion not
Invest in outcomes we would breathe and be charmed and amused by difference
Be gentle and make room for every emotion

We’d provide forums we’d all speak out we’d all be heard we’d all feel seen

We’d rise post-obstacle more defined more grateful we would heal be humbled
And be unstoppable we’d hold close and let go and know when to do which we’d
Release and disarm and stand up and feel safe

This is utopia this is my utopia
This is my ideal my end in sight
Utopia this is my utopia
This is my nirvana
My ultimate

Oreos

So...I had some Oreos out today sitting on the couch, where I was waiting on them to go stale. I guess my cat was pretty hungry because the next thing I know, the little retard (as we so fondly refer to her) was sneaking away with one hanging ever so precariously from her mouth.

Mind you, this cat turns her nose up at meat, so I am sure you can imagine my surprise when she tried to steal my Oreos.

Life will never be the same...I have an Oreo thief, and it walks on four legs.

*sigh*

Dragons

I saw a really cool show yesterday on Animal Planet called Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real.

It was a documentary similar to Walking With Dinosaurs (which I haven't actually seen, but I've been told it's similar), and followed the stories of two dragons. It was really interesting and if you happened to miss it, it will play at least 3 more times on Animal Planet (probably more like 50, if it's anything like Walking With Dinosaurs), or it is available on DVD through the website.

It's a must-see :)

Episode 1: The Blog War

Yes, I am in a blog war with Aubsy from Teh Aubsy Life. Apparently I am winning, and I shall not be conquered! I am not sure what this will consist of to continue winning in my quest for world blogination, but I shall prevail! All hail From the Desk of Angie, huzzah!

Dodging homework again

Here I am again, messing around with my blog instead of doing homework :) I added a whole links section that wasn't there yesterday (Aubs is probably the only one who even saw it yesterday), and I even made sure they all work!

Today was rather uneventful. I worked, I came home, I started on homework then got stuck, and now I am here :) If only I could figure out how to do my homework...hmm...

Entry one

As mentioned in the title, this is my first entry. As I type this, I should be doing my homework for Statistics, but I don't feel like it. If no one has ever told you, statistics sucks. Well, maybe if it wasn't
a). online
b). condensed to 5 weeks
and
c). in addition to another math class I am already taking at a campus

it would be ok. But, being that I do have to work and take that other math class, it kinda blows.

Well I suppose I can't put off homework any longer -- ta ta.
